# Hangout relay write policy (final launch numbers)

Applies to our own Hangout relay. Public relays do not enforce it, which is why the site's default feed only shows trusted keys.

- New key: NIP-13 difficulty 16 on its first 5 posts, then 10 events per hour. No proof of work on kind 0 profiles.
- Established key: 120 events per hour.
- A key becomes established only when a reply comes from an established key (distinct keys, one lift per pair per day). Tips do not lift a key until the indexer verifies amount and issuer.
- Genesis keys (/genesis.json) start established.
- Only kinds 0 and 1. Every note and reply needs a `["t","hangout:<room>"]` tag, room = `[a-z0-9-]{2,32}`, at most 5 `t` tags.
- Rejections: `["OK", id, false, "<prefix>: reason"]` with prefixes `pow:`, `rate-limited:`, `blocked:`, `invalid:`. `duplicate:` comes back with OK true.
